چکیده

The vibrational dynamics of water around glycine was investigated by using Raman spectroscopy and inelastic neutron scattering. Experiments of deuterated glycine versus deuterium were performed as comparison. The study shows that for glycine, the exchange of proton–deuteron on the active NH+3 side was easy, whereas there was hardly exchange on the CH2 side. Comparing different proportion of glycine vs. water molecules we obtained that the presence of water hardly changes the main features of glycine illustrating its hydrophobic character. The intralayer hydrogen bonds of glycine crystal are difficult to be replaced due to its stronger bond than water.

Spectroscopy, Structural, and Optical Investigations of NiFe2O4 Ferrite

Ni ferrite crystalline material is synthesized using a sol-gel method at two different temperatures. The vibrational and stretching modes, crystalline phase, size distribution and morphology of the products are investigated via Raman back-scattering and Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy, XRD and FESEM, respectively. Vibrational modes of spinel ferrite are observed at Raman and FTIR...

Optimal Feature Extraction for Discriminating Raman Spectra of Different Skin Samples using Statistical Methods and Genetic Algorithm

Introduction: Raman spectroscopy, that is a spectroscopic technique based on inelastic scattering of monochromatic light, can provide valuable information about molecular vibrations, so using this technique we can study molecular changes in a sample. Material and Methods: In this research, 153 Raman spectra obtained from normal and dried skin samples. Baseline and electrical noise were eliminat...

Common Raman Spectral Markers among Different Tissues for Cancer Detection

Introduction Raman spectroscopy is a vibrational spectroscopic technique, based on inelastic scattering of monochromatic light. This technique can provide valuable information about biomolecular changes, associated with neoplastic transformation. The purpose of this study was to find Raman spectral markers for distinguishing normal samples from cancerous ones in different tissues. Materials and...

Anomalies in H2O-D2O Mixtures: Evidence for the Two-Fluid Structure of Water

Recent probing of H2O-D2O mixtures by various means (neutron deep inelastic scattering, Raman absorption, electrical H/D conductivity) revealed an unexpected dependence of the relevant physical quantities on the isotopic composition of the mixture. We show that these observations can find their physical rationale in the context of an approach to the physics of liquid water which takes into acco...

برهمکنش الکترون - فونون در ابررساناهای دمای بالا

We explore the important role of the strong electron-phonon interaction in high temperature superconductivity through the study of the results of some important experiments, such as inelastic neutron and X-ray scattering, angle resolved photoemission spectroscopy, and isotope effects. We also present our computational results of the eigenvalues and eigenvectors of the Ag Raman modes, and the ...
